As for the skiing, there is sizeable terrain to explore both in Vallnord and Grandvalira and off-piste lovers and boarders will certainly find fun up at Arcalis. The ski areas in the country are particularly good for beginner skiers. Grandvalira benefits from some great wide-open pistes, gentle gradients on beginner slopes not to mention the fact that Andorra has some of the best ski schools there are.
As well as finding English speaking instructors in most ski schools in Andorra, in the Vallnord ski area which covers Arinsal and La Massana the ski school is BASI-approved meaning you know you’re in good hands.
What you get is a more fun and relaxed approach and environment which is reflected most in what is undoubtedly the après capital of the Pyrenees Pas de la Casa. The resort is very much all about fun both on and off the mountain, with its mountain neighbour Soldeu being a quieter and more comfortable alternative resort with the same skiing.
Also worth a visit is the Caldea spa where you can spend a day being pampered with an array of pools, baths and treatments. This is the perfect excuse for a day’s break from skiing or if you have non-skiers in your party.
