Come Rain or Shine the Show Will Go On!

That’s the message from Newport Show officials as they put the finishing touches to this year’s farming extravaganza.

Once again it all takes place in the glorious surroundings of the Chetwynd Deer Park and features a non-stop programme of entertainment from 8am to 6pm on July 13.

Attractions include dare-devil motorcycle stunts by The Imps with riders as young as five showing incredible bravery and skill in the main ring.

Visitors can shop to they drop around more than 200 stalls or fill their boots in the giant Food Hall selling delicacies from across the region.

Livestock competitions, majestic shire horses and riding skills add to the agricultural flavour of the event which remains a ‘must’ on social calendar of local farmers.

A highlight is the parade of winning cattle – always an awesome site to behold.

Show president Stephen Belcher said: “As always the show aims to please people from all walks of life while remaining true to its traditional roots in farming. Over the years it has become a massive affair but there is a still a great social buzz about it, a day when old friends from across Shropshire meet up.”

New this year is The Sheep Show. Britain’s Got Talent has nothing on this all singing all dancing attraction featuring comedy, shearing skills and dancing sheep!

Stephen added: “The deer park sits on sandstone and has its own natural drainage system making it an all-weather venue. So no matter what the weather, the show will go on.”
